I love doing Portraits - they have a special place in my heart. There is so much love and emotion and experience in each face. For me creating a Portrait is so much more than capturing a likeness - I try to capture the essence of a person...their energy....a moment in time.....

My medium of choice is Pastel or a mix of Charcoal and Pastel on acid free paper. I use my fingers to blend the colors and tones, and there's a sense of immediacy and intimacy with the work when I'm actually touching the surface. It feels as though the colors are pouring right through my fingers.....
