In 1994, the City of Providence commissioned The Art of Life to spearhead the City's fledgling mural program. An 82' x 16' wall was chosen by the City in the Arts and Entertainment district, on a sidestreet near the Providence Performing Arts Center.
Titled 'Re-Turn of the Century', the mural features two views of historic Westminster Street at the turn of the century, separated by a fictional cafe, and populated by contemporary people dressed in period garb.
So why did we paint ourselves into the Mural 13 feet tall, scowling, and holding our paint brushes? Well, it's an odd little story....for another time....
