Created in the mid 90's and measuring 41" x 58", this mosaic pastiche of Raphael's 'Cowper Madonna' was Bonnie Lee Turner's very first foray into the art of mosaics.

Composed on an oval support using pieces of ceramic tile with white grout, this work is a fascinating look at the birth of a great talent. While not nearly as polished as later pieces, this ambitious work is magnificent for its energy and attention to detail, and clearly shows - even at this ealry stage - the lyrical quality found in all of Ms. Turner's mosaics.
