Welcome to my Portrait Gallery.

I love painting Portraits because I love people. I see each person as a symphony - to fully appreciate them you have to listen for the instruments playing softly in the background, and even the space between the notes... Portraits have just as many subtleties and nuances, and that makes them endlessly fascinating and always rewarding.

For portraits, my medium of choice is oil on linen. Oil has an earthiness and a timelessness that transcends words - you feel like the person is right in the room. You can almost feel their breath and the blood coursing through their veins.

I also enjoy working working with acrylic paint. Acrylics have colors and tones that are as rich and vibrant as oils, but there's a playfulness to their look that is very different from the 'serious' look of oil.

Following is a brief sampling of my Portrait work.
